RAPID CITY, SD (KELO.com) — The push is on to hire 130 employees for the new women’s prison in Rapid City. The facility has been under construction since 2023. It’s designed to hold up to 300 medium and minimum security offenders, who will begin arriving at the end of the summer. About 40-percent of the staff positions have been filled.
