SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Solving one problem, while creating another. That’s how Lt. Governor Tony Venhuizen describes the process of improving the state’s response to parole problems. Governor Rhoden is focused on sending parole violators back to prison, which is creating overcrowding problems at county jails in Sioux Falls and Rapid City. Venhuizen has spent the past year working on prison problems. He chaired the Project Prison Task Force last year, winning approval of building a new men’s prison in Sioux Falls. This year he chairs the state’s Correctional Rehabilitation Task Force.
