Primary election turnout highest since 2008

UNDATED (KELO.com) — Turnout in Tuesday’s primary election was above 34 percent, the strongest for a South Dakota primary election since 2008.  More than 171-thousand people cast votes.  Turnout for Republicans was 43 percent, compared to 17 percent for Democrats and 10 percent for independents and other parties.
